The first five years of a child's education are the formative years. Here the foundations are laid and it is essential if we are to utilise their full abilities and aptitude to base this nursery and infant education on understanding. * We do not regard the nursery class as a play group, although play is an essential part of physical, intellectual, emotional and social development, but must be structured and guided to enable the child to receive worthwhile experience from it. * The nursery class will follow a planned pre-reading and pre-number scheme. The environment will be designed to encourage and increase vocabulary and language development. They will be given opportunities to become independent and self reliant, in preparation for school. Children may start nursery at 2 years 6 months of age. The nursery class is from 8.45 am to 12.00 pm Monday to Friday. Full day nursery is available.
